Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway – Cross Florida Equestrian Trails

This bring your own horse, 1,400-mile, congressionally designated Florida National Scenic Trail is also home to the Florida Horse Park and many miles of loop trails. The Greenway has several locations in the county as starting points and offers an extraordinary opportunity to explore diverse aspects of Florida's wild beauty on horseback. Additional horseback riding opportunities can be found on the nearby lands of the Southwest Water Management District at the Hálpata-Tastanaki Preserve, located approximately four miles east of Dunnellon on the south side of CR 484. The Preserve offers several miles of multi-use, recreational trails and the Pruitt Trailhead which provides non-potable water for horses and an equestrian staging area.
